Your privacy, plainly explained

Last updated: September 2026

JobApplyCopilot ("we," "us") is a browser extension and web app that fills out job applications from your résumé and profile. This page explains what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it — in plain language, not legal filler.

What we collect

When you create an account and set up your profile, we store:

  • Your name, email, phone number, address, LinkedIn/portfolio links, and work authorization details
  • Your work history, education, and the résumé file you upload
  • Voluntary self-identification answers (gender, race/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status) — only if you choose to provide them. Left blank, these are never filled on any application and never guessed
  • Your subscription status and billing identifiers from Stripe (we never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly)
  • A long-lived connection token that lets the browser extension talk to your account, so it can pull your profile and report which applications it filled

How we use it

Your information is used only to operate the product:

  • Filling in job application forms with your details, in your own browser, when you use the extension
  • Reading your résumé (via OpenAI's API) to pre-fill your profile when you upload it
  • Drafting suggested answers to open-ended application questions (via OpenAI's API), grounded only in your résumé and your own saved notes — never inventing employers, skills, or experience you haven't told us about
  • Processing your subscription payment (via Stripe) and keeping your account's access in sync with it

What we never do

  • We never sell your personal information to anyone
  • The extension never submits a job application for you — it fills in what it can, and a human being (you) always reviews and clicks submit yourself, every time
  • We never fill in a voluntary self-identification field you haven't explicitly provided a value for

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers to run the product, and share only what each one needs to do its job:

  • OpenAI — processes your résumé text and profile notes to extract structured fields and draft application answers
  • Stripe — processes subscription payments; they see your billing details, we don't
  • Google Firebase — hosts your account, profile data, and uploaded résumé securely

We don't share your data with anyone else, and we don't use it for advertising.

The browser extension's permissions

The JobApplyCopilot extension requests access to a list of job-application sites (Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, and similar platforms) so it can read and fill in form fields on those pages. It only reads fields on pages you actually visit — it doesn't browse or scrape on its own, and it doesn't run on sites outside that list unless you click "Fill this page" yourself.

Your data, your choice

You can update or remove your profile information, replace your résumé, or leave any self-identification field blank at any time from your account's Profile page. If you want your account and all associated data deleted entirely, email us at balt1794@gmail.com with the subject and body: Account Deletion Request. We'll delete your profile, résumé, and application history, keeping only what's legally required for payment records.
